Questions to ask at an interview
Interviews are a two-way process; you are there to find out about the employer as well. Therefore, think about what you would like to find out about the organisation and job role. Most interviewers give you a chance to ask questions (generally towards the end of the interview). Some questions you might like to ask could include:
- Why is the position available? Is it a new role or a replacement?
- What type of training would be on offer?
- Where is the job located? What are the travel requirements, if any?
- How many are in the team?
- Who would you be reporting to, will you get the opportunity to meet this person?
- What would the day to day responsibilities include?
- What are the realistic chances for growth in the job?
- How does the interviewer feel the interview has gone?
If you are interested in the position, make this clear, and ask when you will hear about the next step or when they will have made a decision.
Finally, remember to give your recruitment consultant a call once the interview has finished to give and receive feedback on the interview.
